When did you first have a microwave in your home? Were you afraid that it would make you sick or did you embrace this “new” technology?
There has been one, since I moved in…. I’ve never thought about it… are they dangerous or something?

Water seems to boil quickly in the microwave. Be careful if you use it for this purpose.

awesome cat! I use my microwave from time to time- took awhile for me to get one!

We’ve had one around for years, but use the stove more… The staff have been known to store cakes, etc. in the microwave… =^.^=

I think the newer ones are probably safer than when they first became available. Still, we aren’t supposed to be too close to them while they are operating. I was told to be at least 6 feet away from a microwave that is in use. Considering my family history of cancer, I do my best to stay at least that far from it while it is on. It may not make a difference for me in the long run, but at least it shouldn’t add to the problem.

Mom tends to pop something into the microwave, then go do something else – often out of the room. Now that you mention it, she doesn’t stay near the thing, either, so I guess I’d better start keeping my distance. =^.^=

I was never afraid of my microwave. They sure were huge when they first came out though.

With anything new there are those that fear that new thing. I remember people being terribly afraid of the microwave. I don’t think anyone is anymore though. 🙂
