M41. I would like to ask_politicians why they don’t seem to listen to each other… why they seem to act like things are totally good or totally bad. In my purrsonal experience, very few things are completely good or bad and the best choices can be made if one listens, makes sure they understand the complete situation, then find a good compromise.

Thankful Thursday – Trust

P1180764Dear Furiends,

Living in this multi-species household, I think trust is important. Having someone you trust is something to be thankful for. That is why this post is purrticipating in Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I have been hearing that word for months, mainly as it pertains to dogs and how their trust is unconditional… I can not abide the thought of a dog being better than a cat at

Adrian Savage wrote an article that said, “Trust is fundamental to life. If you cannot trust in anything or anyone, life becomes a constant battle against paranoia and looming disaster. You can’t have relationships without trust, let alone good ones. Intimacy depends on it. I suspect more marriages are wrecked by lack of trust than by actual infidelity. The partner who can’t trust the other not to betray him or her will either drive them away or force them into some real or assumed act of faithlessness.”

Meow is me, this is more important than I imagined… how did dogs figure this out?!?

As per Google, one very interesting aspect of trust is that it can either be a noun or verb.

noun (in the sense of how I’m using it): trust is the firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something.

“good relationships are built on trust”

synonyms: confidence, belief, faith, certainty, assurance, conviction, credence; reliance

antonyms: distrust, mistrust, doubt

verb: believe in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of.

“I should never have trusted her”

synonyms: rely on, depend on, bank on, count on, be sure of… I hear this on the news, ie: “can he be trusted to carry out an impartial investigation?th-2

So, I am also thankful that I realize earning trust is valuable.… and apparently, it must be earned, though often, in the beginning, it is an act of faith and if one wants to establish trust, they need to take the first step. As per the news, I’ve I’ve discovered a couple individuals who try to show both sides and are dedicated to reporting the truth instead of spew emotional verbiage that seems to be based on questionable sources and information. I’m sure Mr. Hannity and Ms. Ingram aren’t the only trustworthy ones who verify information and strive for objectivity, but I haven’t had the time to research all reporters and/or news programs…. and the humans seem to think THEY are in charge of the remote control…

Getting back to why I believe trust is important... Adrian Savage concluded his thoughts by saying, “It takes a conscious act of unconditional belief in that other person’s good sense, ability, honesty or sense of commitment to set the ball rolling. Will your trust sometimes be misplaced? Of course. Life isn’t perfect and some people aren’t trustworthy. But will increasing your willingness to trust produce, on balance, a positive benefit? Will it make your life more pleasant and less stressful? I believe so. You have little to lose by trying.”th-1

I shall begin by trusting Purrseidon to keep her promise and not to mess with my silvervine.

Fe-line Pa-ral-y-sis

20171106_231720Dear Furiends,

My word for the week is Fe-line Pa-ral-y-sis. It is a noun and the definition is: a condition in which humans are unable to move due to the presence of a cat on their lap/s.  I admit that I need to work on this skill…. Mr. M is as masterful at it as he is a purr-therapy. <sigh> I don’t know why the things he does, which he claims are ‘proper feline conduct’ seem so difficult for me to learn. I wish my calendar had tips on how to become a propurr cat!20170226_095637

Purrseidon >^.^<

>>>>> Just look how skilled he is at this – he even looks like he enjoys lounging there and doing nothing.

20161007_1002271. My guiding word for 2018 is patience…. and believe me, this is truly something I need to cultivate to live in this multi-species household where my feline sisfur acts like a otter and I’m expected to view prey (Halo) as a brofur instead

of the main ingredient in hasenpfeffer stew…. I shall not even attempt to articulate my thoughts on the humans and their infernal habit of hauling me to the v e t or ‘sisfur’ Sphera, even though she can be more of a scardy cat than Purrseidon….

2. A house is not a home without cats!

20170318_1438073. I look forward to planting our garden this year and I’m purraying there won’t be another ‘nip-stealing hurricane this year.

4. I really need to start my seeds indoors, because the weather has turned unexpectedly cold. Would you believe that we’ve had frost for the past couple nights?!? This is unheard of, at least for my latitude!!! The news acts a lot like Chicken Little and yelling ‘the sky is falling’, but after all, it IS winter, so cold weather is supposedly expected. I think the problem is that many reporters also buy into the global warming concept, but blizzards sort of make me wonder about the accuracy of that.P1180042
