20170426_112835Dear Furiends,

M often mentions his hunting prowess – of course, that was a few years ago. And he also has told me that I’m not a typical cat (apparently, he is and that means cats are grumpy as well as boastful about hunting. Anyway, I really do want to be a proper cat, so I’ve been working on my hunting skills … and have been practicing on our geckos. Did you know that when you catch them, their tails fall off? Shocked me something fierce the first time. The good news is that the tails grow back. I know this for a fact because because just about all the geckos in my yard are now missing their tails… And they are a lot speedier without those tails, but I occasionally catch and release one. That means I’m a good hunter, right?

However, I doubt that I will EVER be a hunter of this caliber!!!image(5)

I assure you that M isn’t even in that category!baefef0a35775a2c1c3691bb0ee897f8--kitty-cats-kitten

Thankfully, I’m not in this category, either:

Friday Fillins

1. I can’t wait to eat turkey and pumpkin pie with real whipped cream on Thanksgiving.

2. My favorite kind of pie is hmmm, that depends on your definition of ‘pie – it’s either chicken-pot-pie OR anything with real whipped cream.

m33. This year, I am particularly thankful for my family and furiends.

4. A funny holiday tradition in my/our house is that Christmas gifts be made (or, on a rare occasion purchased) prior to Thanksgiving…. They do this so they have plenty of time to get the needed bits and pieces… They mainly purrfer to make things because it gifts something special... this might not be very good for those who aren’t very talented at making things, but my staff is quite competent.

This post is purrticipating in a blog hop hosted by McGuffy’s Reader & 15andmeowing Yesterday, they asked these 4 fill in the blank questions:happy-1992300__340

1. I can’t wait to eat _______________ on Thanksgiving.

2. My favorite kind of pie is __________________.

3. This year, I am particularly thankful for __________________.

Black Cats Tell All

20171107_195013Dear Furiends,

A couple weeks ago, Ms. Ellen Pilch (mom to my dear, departed furiends, Spook and Phoebe Pilch) sent me Black Cats Tell All.  I must admit that I was initially horrified to learn that some of my black brethren had blabbed our secrets to humans, but when I recovered from that shock, I realized I should read this tell-all. It wasn’t what I expected at all. Ms. Layla Morgan Wilde, who wrote the book, is a holistic cat expert and she is owned by four special needs cats. Her black cat muse, Clyde is deaf, diabetic with kidney disease but he’s doing well for being 18. (It was very comforting to know that a fellow blackie had her well in paw.)20171107_194914

While all the stories were interesting, I admit that my favorite one was the very last… Spooky, my dear furied, was included! I miss him.

The only fault I noticed with the book was that the ‘gutters’ (that is where the pages meet the binding) were very narrow – if they’d been a bit wider, it would have made it much easier to read.

Instinct Salmon Recipe

20171106_230411This month, M and I reviewed a case of 12 Instinct by Nature’s Variety Grain-Free Minced Recipe with Real Salmon Wet Cat Food Cups ….pictures were hard to get because at first the staff was down with the flu, then when they recovered, they tore the house apart in their quest to kill germs. Worse, they locked me on the catio and wouldn’t allow me to snoopervise! I was very upset with them. As a peace offering, they gave them a serving … it was the most delicious thing I’ve reviewed, yet!!!  I really like the texture of this food it is not pate or super chunky, and not a lot of liquid it was about perfect and it was easy for the staff to split so M and I each got half… That having been said, I would have purrferred to have Instinct Salmon Recipe all to myself, but that wouldn’t have been nice and I’m a good sisfur, so I shared with M.20171106_230659

Sunday Selfies

Dear Furiends,

Lately, there has been more rubbish than usual in my back yard… I knew it wasn’t any of us, so I decided to keep a close watch and my vigilance was successful.

Do you see the sneak coming through the hole under the fence?!?

Up until now, I suspected an armadillo dug that hole… I admit it when I’m wrong.received_1093631187406671

Does anyone have suggestion for how I can stop this bandit from invading my property? Filling in the hole hasn’t worked… I even tried to fortify the fill with some chicken wire… that still didn’t work. Chickens are supposedly genetically close to T-Rex, so one would think wire that could hold them would work…. Wonder what sort of dinosaur that bandit has similar DNA to…..

Apparently, I made a better offer today than I did last Sunday, because my brofur didn’t run away… he isn’t happy about the camera, but he isn’t fleeing, either.
