Dear Furiends,
As a writer’s muse, I research many things and while the vast majority of my ‘tidbits’ do not end up in a novel, some do. Today, I have a tidbit to share with you, which might not make it into a novel, but you might want to plan to look at the nighttime sky tomorrow because astronomers expect an outburst of Perseid meteors! The prediction is for 200 meteors per hour seen on August 11-12 (evening of August 11, morning of August 12).
If you happen to live in Africa and are interested in celestial events, you might also want to mark September 1st on your calendar because there will be a solar eclipse… The annular solar eclipse (also known as a “ring of fire” solar eclipse) will look like this
to the fortunate ones living here
Happy sky viewing!

This post is part of my furiends on the BlogPaws Blog Hop for “Wordless Wednesday as well as Create with Joy’s Wordless Wednesday blog hop and Comedy Plus’s blog hop.
I stood outside in my p.j.s in the middle of the night last night and saw quite a show! The meteor shower is one of my favorite things about the summer.

Mine, too! Our staff claims that the stars looked even more amazing when they lived aboard EvenStar. I can only imagine what it must be like to be in the middle of the ocean with no light pollution.

Yes, though there was a lot of light pollution… humans obviously have terrible vision problems, otherwise they wouldn’t infest the world with annoying things like street lights. Did you get to see it???

Just like my pal Summer, we live in a city as well and light pollution keeps us from enjoying many celestial events. The meteor look like a great show.

You are one smart kitty. I’ll make sure I look. We live in a small town, but there is still light to contend with.
Have a purrfect Wordless Wednesday. 🙂

We live in the city, and even though our house is in the foothills, where there is less light, there is still enough to keep the humans from seeing the full effect of meteor showers. 😦
