It’s always fun to watch the moon, i was given a love of watching eclipses by a friend of my mother who let me stay up late and see it one night.

Thank you, we have to remember that. Years ago I saw lunar eclipse when driving a car to work, it was early morning, dark and the moon just in the middle of my windshield. It was great to follow the whole “show”. I will never forget that morning.

I think moon eclipses are more magical and mysterious than sun ones. Though those are much more dramatic. =^.^=

I have wondered in my mind many times what people thought when they didn’t know these systems. Suddenly the sun is turning black and all the light disappears, even birds stop to sing… the end of the world, what else. Have you heard of the star shower in Lissabon, Portugal. The sky was full of flying stars. They seemed to falling down. I have seen an old drawing of it.

I haven’t heard of that one, but one of my friends has degrees in both physics and astrology (strange combination, right?) I bet she’s heard of this.

If I remember right it was about three hundred years ago.

I will ask Marcha if she’s heard of this.

I asked Marcha, but she had never heard of this. She said it sounded like a meteor shower.

Yes, that it must have been. I tell more, if I find the site were it was.

Might this be the sketch you saw?

Oh yes! I have seen this for years ago, but it was so interesting I remeber it. The time before camera! Isn’t it unbelievable.

It is very amazing. I bet, if one actually saw it, it was also scary.

It was the Leonid meteor shower 1833. If you google Leonids there is in wikipedia an interesting article.

Ah, so Marcha was correct about it sounding like a meteor shower!
