Dear Furiends,
I know that I usually tell you something interesting about the heavens in these posts, but recently, my brother (from a different mother & living in Finland) reminded me that the sky is interesting even when I don’t have my telescope handy.
Kozmo was talking about the Norther Lights, which I have only seen in photos, but I frequently see butterflies…. SO, before the butterflies leave for winter, I thought I would share these with you.
Happy Sky Watching, Mr. M =^.^=
How gorgeous. It seems like we had more butterflies hanging around this year than in the recent past. We still have some Monarchs hanging out. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

One of these days … the Northern lights. One of my goals was to be in a place where it was dark enough to see an arm of the Milky Way … and I did that. But butterflies are cool too!

Mom & Pop living in Fairbanks, Alaska and occasionally mention going cross-country skiing under the Northern Lights. Purrseidon might like skiing, but I’m fairly sure that I’d prefer photos. =^.^=

Hi Brother!
Your butterflies are so beautiful, I have not seem a butterfly for a long time, in August they leave us. But they are coming back…
Kosmo,
your brother in Finland.

We don’t have a lot of them, right now, either, but there will be a lot in 3-4 months …. at least, I hope there will be…. Our area has been sprayed for Zika mosquitoes, and I dearly hope that poison doesn’t affect butterflies, too… =^.^=

Oh cats, I really hope that Zika spray doesn’t kill butterflies, but…every year have have less and less butterflies, people use poison in their garden for unwanted plants and kill all the insects. Bad!

I do NOT LIKE poison. Purrseidon is actually the one who oversees our yard and she doesn’t allow the staff to use many chemicals. =^.^=

As long as she keeps her paws off my silvervine, I agree. =^.^=

I would love to see the Northern Lights. I’ve been to Alaska but it was the wrong time of the year!!

As I understand it, you need to be there in winter, when it is dark enough to see them + you need a solar flare to’ light them up’. =^.^=
