Hidden Messages…

Dear Furiends,

In yesterday’s sneak-peak of Me-YEOW!’s cover, did you find the hidden messages? … I told you that the background shows you where Xander’s latest adventure takes place. Did you recognize it?

Did you notice the other messages?

Hopefully, Me-YEOW! will available by December. (I am actually trying to get all edits complete prior to Thanksgiving, but 12-1 is my ‘must do’ deadline.)

This story will be dedicated to Spooky Pilch, a fine house panther who crossed the Rainbow Bridge earlier this year. Ms. Ellen was kind enough to give Ms. Kiara a photo of Spooky for the back cover : meowbk

Handsome tom, isn’t he?

Sneak Peak…

Dear Furiends,

I have a special treat for you, today. It is a sneak peak at the cover of my next novel: Me-YEOW! …  my sisfur is over the boughs about it because Mischief (a.k.a. my sisfur, Purrseidon) is peaking up on the front:meyeonft

By the way, as you look at Me-YEOW!’s cover, do you see coded messages? There are a couple. For one thing, the background tells you where Xander’s latest adventure takes place. Do you recognize it?

Did you notice the second message?

Hopefully, Me-YEOW! will available by December. (I am actually trying to get all edits complete prior to Thanksgiving, but 12-1 is my ‘must do’ deadline.)

Sky Watch with Mr. M

Dear Furiends,

My apologies for not posting last week… I have been up to my whiskers in edits for Me-YEOW!

Cleaning up after Hurricane Matthew, which was a very rude CAT 3 storm, is taking up a lot of time, too. So, my life is more than rogue commas, it’s broken limbs, too.  Oddly enough, Matthew didn’t seem interested in the weeds.

When  I discovered this info-graphic on Pinterest, I thought it was wonderful – purrticularly for sci-fi writers, who wanted to write about another world. I hope you like it.

Oct 3rd

Dear Furiends,

Today the Halloween challenge calendar says “SPOOKY”… Well, Mr. M and our secretary are busy-busy editing Me-YEOW! and that book will be dedicated to Mr. Spooky Pilch, who went over the rainbow bridge this year.

Me-YEOW! has many black cats in honor of Mr. Spooky. I am using the photo of a black panther for today  because we based the character of Lord Spooky PoWAC is a panther living in India – he is Purrtector of Wild Asian Cats on that photo

Obviously, this challenge is for Halloween and – except for Chucky – I love, love, love Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween Month!!!

Praying Mantis, etc.

Dear Furiends,

A praying mantis was in our house and happened to be on the sliding doors vinyl cling grave yard. (The staff has begun decorating for Halloween, already.)p1190482

Master Munchkin, who is a bit of a science nerd, said it was a boy because it had wings… I had the staff take a few picture before they put it outside… We had to be quick because Purrseidon likes to befriend all sorts of creatures.

Later, I helped Ms. Kiara prepare some orders. She paid me for my services with some of my blend. She claims I spent the next hour insisting on belly rubs, then I became  quite spry for a bit and freaked her out by standing on 2 legs while scratching my ear. I was NOT having some weird seizure, just enjoying the relief of arthritic pain. Once we were done preparing the orders, she and I discussed the possibility of doing some joint marketing and combine my novels with her nip. We haven’t worked out any details, and haven’t even decided if we will be offering p1190355paperback or ebooks with her blends – for that matter, we haven’t decided which blends to combine, but if we did, don’t you think this would be a nice package?

Labor Day

I am joining a September Challenge and answering today’s question about my teen years, which weren’t very long ago. Here is the link if you want to check it out and/or maybe join in, too.

Today is Labor Day in the United States. How old were you when you got your first job? What was that job? Did you enjoy it?

I began learning to be a writer’s muse when I was about a month old… that is less than a year old in human years. And yes, I enjoy it. In fact, I as still doing it. Purr-a-noia was the first book I worked on and I was instrumental in adding Mischief to the story… she got an even stronger roll in The Vi-Purrs and, as long as my brofur doesn’t edit Me-YEOW! too drastically, Mischief will continue to grow in the story. P1100588

I need to keep my eye on M and start lobbying for editorial privileges because he thinks Mischief is a very strange kitten and keeps wanting to edit out her character traits…. I was taught that I should write what I know, so Mischief loves water sports and dreams of becoming a Purrtector – she even looks like me. Thus, the things my brofur and I disagree on in ‘real life’ seem to be what we disagree on in our work as muses, too.

Cat-a-bliss Blends

Purrseidon and Mr. M have tested enthusiastic testers for 13 Cat-a-bliss blends. Their interest surprised me because Ms. Purrseidon has never showed a preference for catnip toys (she loves her water-activated fish and ball collection) and Mr. M has never showed interest in anything catnip since I’ve known him. Over the past months, they tested these:

Mister M’s Special Blend

Milo’s Meow Mix, which seemed relaxing

Purrseidon’s Preferred

Twitch’s Angelic Nip Bliss, which also seemed to calm

Flip My Nip, which seemed to help Mr. M’s urinary track issues

Thyme to Partyd84c3b_d137ca1f209c421f8477872414438567

Wacky Catbacky was relaxing.

Alley Cat Delight seemed relaxing

Sir Nips A Lot

Cat-a-stash also seemed good for Mr. M’s chronic urinary track issues – I keep telling the old guy that he needs to drink plenty of water, but he doesn’t seem to like drinking much of anything. That said, the one thing he does like to drink is tea made with Cat-a-bliss blends… those cute little muslin bags that the samples come in make fantastic tea bags.

15 - 1

Chronical Kitty seemed to give Mr. M a nice spring-tonic boost.

Whole Buds Purrsidon treated these like a toy and batted the buds around, instead of actually nibbling on or rolling in the powder/leaves. P1130718

Smart as a Nip was a bit different because it gave M & P nice fresh breath.

As you probably noticed, their tests began with Mr. M’s Special Blend. Please do not assume that Cat-a-bliss named this after my own dear tuxedo. In my The Vi-Purrs, which will debut in about a month, Mr. M’s Special Blend was an irresistible catnip blend, which the evil feline villain, Chester Moreau, developed to undermine Catamondo. When I wrote the book, I’d never heard of catnip blends, but it seemed like something an evil cat with access to a good laboratory might do. Kiara, who owns Cat-a-bliss, designs the covers for my novels, and she reads the rough drafts to get an idea of the story prior to designing the covers. When she read The Vi-Purrs, Kiara loved the concept of catnip blends and began to research catnip, then develop blends. When she came up with her first blend, she named it after the fictional blend, thus proving that fiction can become fact.img_5760.jpeg
