20170426_112835Dear Furiends,

M often mentions his hunting prowess – of course, that was a few years ago. And he also has told me that I’m not a typical cat (apparently, he is and that means cats are grumpy as well as boastful about hunting. Anyway, I really do want to be a proper cat, so I’ve been working on my hunting skills … and have been practicing on our geckos. Did you know that when you catch them, their tails fall off? Shocked me something fierce the first time. The good news is that the tails grow back. I know this for a fact because because just about all the geckos in my yard are now missing their tails… And they are a lot speedier without those tails, but I occasionally catch and release one. That means I’m a good hunter, right?

However, I doubt that I will EVER be a hunter of this caliber!!!image(5)

I assure you that M isn’t even in that category!baefef0a35775a2c1c3691bb0ee897f8--kitty-cats-kitten

Thankfully, I’m not in this category, either:

Birthday in Review

received_10213890974177746Dear Furiends,

I want to thank all of you for your well-wishes for my birthday. Meowser, but those are fun!  Isn’t my new pumpkin harness beautiful?!? Orange is my favorite color and I adore pumpkins, too

My staff even took me for a walk in the rain!!! Oh, happy day!  One of mom’s friends was talking about her dogs won’t walk on a leash and she can’t train them. Obviously, she is not teaching them right or putting forth enough effort.  All my furmily will walk on a leash M and Halo do not do it well but Saphers and I know stop, go, left, right, hurry, jog, break, line up, and so on.

2. I will never refuse try and give good advice to those who need direction, by that I mean that I will help them to learn how to fish, so they can feed themselves for a lifetime. Besides, fishing is fun… dealing with the hook, not so much, but still fun and it gives me a great sense of satisfaction when I know I can take care of myself, so I imagine that others will feel that way, too.

4. When it comes to school, I am determined that the munchkins get a good education and learn real history, good math skills and solid science… Ms. Munchkin already excels at grammar, reading and writing, but the little master needs a bit of polish in that area… Both of them are skilled at art.c1b99a1eeca6f8f4e9b8b80ab7d58c23

Sunday Selfies

Dear Furiends, I did my selfie in  our newest Chewy box … hopefully, M and I will do reviews next week… Irma disrupted our schedule.20170908_222504.jpg

Despite a purrsuasive argument, Halo refused to join in.

Surprisingly, M had enough box time in the past week that he was agreeable… IMHO, his whiskers look purrticularly handsome.

AND I helped a cloud do a selfie, even though it was trying to escape!

Have a wonderful week, dear furiends.

2. When I go out to breakfast, I order lizard tail. Of course, I need to catch it, myself, but it’s very tasty… I don’t know why my staff gets so upset about me fending for myself or wrings their hands over the fact that most of the lizards who live here are running around with half-grown or no tail… those tails will grow back.

3. As Summer officially comes to an end, how does one know, except by looking at a calendar? For those of us living in Florida, the end of hurricane season is much more important than the end of summer, which never seems to end.… summer might be over according to the calendar, but hurricane season won’t end for a few more weeks.

4. Before this year is over, I really need to make a plan for 2018.

Casualty of Irma

p1190551Dear Furiends,

Irma caused a purrsonal loss that I’m finally ready to share.

I lost my favorite banana tree.

Practically every day, I would climb it until I was high enough to look over our fence, then I would get the neighbor dog’s attention (he is a pesky, noisy fellow)…. When he saw me, he would over-react and start barking and barking and barking. Eventually, his owner would come out and scold him for being noisy…. Of course, as

20170909_135417soon as that door began to open, I would duck out of sight, so that annoying dog appeared to be barking at nothing…. Alas, my tree had a half-grown bunch of bananas, so combine being off balance by that with Irma’s rain and winds, I finally got outside to see this:

It will be months before any of the others are tall enough for me to resume my game.

Wordly Wednesday

Dear Furiends,M4

Yesterday, the Keys started evacuating & I can understand that, since there is basically one way in/out & they are more or less in the path. I can also understand Miami taking action by closing schools so they can convert them into shelters, but I can’t fathom why locals are panicking. IF Irma follows the European path, it will head North through mid-Florida. Being overland leeches away the power. Thus far, it hasn’t encountered a large mass of land to do that. Our state would do the trick. By the time it gets up to us, I expect it to be a 3 or maybe even 2. Matthew was a 3 and more of an annoyance than anything else. IF it follows a more western strand, we don’t have any worries. IF it follows a more Eastern one, in the Atlantic, I will need to reevaluate my choice of staying put.
Mom says that when she was a kid, reporters shared information; emotion was in sitcoms and fiction,.Over the years,  mom and I been hearing more and more emotion from reporters. For instance a reporter just said, “the storm is barreling into_____”, she was using a breathless tone and wringing her hands….. …. Irma is moving about 13 mph, that is hardly barreling.  I am not saying that Irma isn’t worth preparing

for, I’m saying that reporters are over dramatizing it because they apparently think that is their job… IMHO, their job is sharing information, not panic.  I hate to thin how many might get trapped on roads and/or have accidents as they flee. Even Purrseidon seems to be over reacting. Would you believe that she put on her super-cat-storm-fighter outfit? Now tell me how a 10 pound cat is going to take on a hurricane?!?
Mr. M =^.^=
PS: I am going to decompress from all this emotion in my box.  This post is part of Create with Joy’s Wordless Wednesdayblog hop.
