    1. Mom often uses the dried root to make a detox tea – she claims it is delicious and it must be, since there in never any left in the cup for me.

    1. Mom and Ms. Cheri, Angel’s mom both love dandelion root tea – apparently it is good to detox…. I, purrsonally, haven’t tasted any because I’ve never had the chance. I have a bit of a reputation for ‘sampling’ and/or outright stealing food I love, like spinach … I love, love, love spinach salad!

    1. Meowser Mr. Charles, I’m pleased that you think so! Mom bases her choices on what to plant on things like that. Her family has been involved with plants for generations, so she also thinks this sort of thing is ‘common knowledge’.

      1. Meowser, many times that is because plants dry out. Regular pots have holes in the bottom, so you need to water, water, water… Mr. Leon devised a way to conserve water by making ‘self-wicking pots’ They only need to be checked once or twice a week. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BuqYmRmJrHo tells you how to make them, but he has developed many other ways to do this than 6″ pipe.

      2. Purrhaps you could phone your county extension agent and inquire if they test samples of your soil, so you could get a clue what might be wrong with it. IF you water with city water, that could also be a problem – many cities sterilize their water with chemicals plants don’t like. This is why we have rain barrels.

      3. If you’re not sure, it might be best to leave it in an open bucket overnight for stuff like bleach to evaporate or break down in the sun’s UV rays.

  1. Those were really good and interesting too. Hey, if you eat some cayenne pepper you’ll totally forget about the pain. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

    1. Meowser Brian, I’ve never tried to eat cayenne, because I don’t like the smell, but my chickens love the stuff… Mom says it is good for them and kills parasites.
