Feline Friday Fillins

P91. I know spring is almost here when I start seeing butterflies in the yard.
2. I find democratic debates confusing.
3. I have a strong opinion on education and the value of thinking for oneself.
4. Chameleon tails are the strangest thing I have ever eaten….. They are surprisingly tasty and chameleons grow them back.
This post is purrticipating in a blog hop hosted by Ms. Ellen of 15and meowing and Ms. Lorianne of Fourleggedfurballs. Yesterday, they asked these questions. (Ms. Ellen asked the first two fill-in-the-blank questions and Ms. Lorianne the later two – our answers are underlined.) If you don’t want to write a blog post, you can simply answer in the comments section. These were the original questions:

Thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins, Purrseidon! We can’t wait to start seeing butterflies in our yard. We have some flowers trying to bloom, but no butterflies yet. And this here human avoids watching political debates. I’ll happily do research on candidates on my own rather than watch a political debate unravel into an absolute mess on national TV. Purrseidon, your answer to #3 yet again proves how wise you are. Thinking for yourself is the way to go. As for chameleon tails, though, I think I might pass on that. Purrs to you!

    1. Meowser Ms. Lorianne, chameleon tails are delicious! We don’t watch the silly political debates, either, though the staff did see bits and pieces of one, last week – out-takes on the evening news….. they said it looked like a kindergarten free-for-all. Shameful! Apparently those individuals don’t have good feline snoopervisors.
Thank you for hosting the Friday fill-ins.

      1. Kosmo, I’m shocked!!! All us kitties can read, we simply need to know that and purratice. Think how easy it is to meow or purr… you probably take it for granted because you do it all the time, but think back to when you were teeny-tiny – not purrticularly easy to get your thoughts out quite right, was it? But, you kept at it, right? It’s the same with anything else worthwhile – the more you purractice, the better you get.

      2. Kosmo dear brofur, I love, love, love books! Mr. M was surprised to learn we cats naturally know how to read…. Katsu can read, too, but does have issues with his vision – for everything, not just reading – so he purrfers to have me read to him, which is one of the things that began ‘story time’.

    1. Their tails break off when you catch the tail … and they regrow, so this is what humans call a ‘renewable resource’ … Yummy fresh or even dehydrated, when they are crispy…. Alas, my chef gets quite upset when she learns I’ve added a tail or two to whatever bits she is dehydrating, so if you make tail crisps, make sure you grab them as soon as they are done. Some humans believe tail crisps are incriminating evidence.

  4. Thinking for yourself is one of the most important skills a living thing can master! Of course, I often get in trouble because I open my mouth to SHARE that thinking and not everyone appreciates being challenged. Oddly enough, in political debates leading up to an election, you sometimes have to wonder if the VOTERS are really thinking for themselves vs. choosing candidates because of factors completely unrelated to the job.

    1. Oh meow is me, Momma Kat, I had no idea that you shared unwanted thoughts, too!…. I’m wondering about those voters, too…. Purrticularly the ones that think socialism is a good thing. Apparently they don’t recall that people in Cuba made flimsy rafts in the hope of getting to the USA – and purrferred death over staying in a communist/socialist country!

      1. EXACTLY! Talk to a native Russian who was alive during the era of the Soviet Union and they will tell you the reality of socialism. The only people who love socialism are the ones that had privileges under the system that the common man did not. People don’t even bother to look at the VA system in the US where medical stuff is covered by the government … IF you can live long enough to get treatment. I’ve known a couple veterans of Iraq that were suicidal a few months after returning and their wait to get just a support group? FIVE MONTHS. A suicidal person can’t wait that long for so little help! And I went to treatment for anorexia a couple times, and we always had people getting treatment here from Canada, England, and throughout Europe – whose families had enough money to petition their governments for treatment in the US because the waiting list in those countries were 18-24 MONTHS. Quite frankly, much of our country is completely blind to what’s going on in the rest of the world (unless it’s coronavirus) – they see the perks, but not the cost. Free stuff sounds so great – until you realize what it truly costs you.

      2. Meowsa Momma Kat, here in Florida we have many that fled Cuba’s form of Socialism/Communism and they had the same miserable experience. I’ve often scratched my ear and wondered if Mr. Bernie was lying on purrpose because he wants power over the other 99% or if he can truly be that ignorant! IF he is ignorant, he needs a good guide cat!
