Dear furiends,
This post is purrticipating in The Cat on My Head’s Sunday Selfies Blog Hop – to see what some of our furiends are doing this weekend please, click here and visit our dear furiends, The Kitties Blue, as well as other Sunday hoppers.
I’m writing this post early and scheduling it to post because I can’t purrdict what our weather will be on Sunday…. As I type this from the safety of my dear old carry-case/bunker, I don’t know if we’ll take a trip or stay…. And I can’t purrdict if we’ll have power and/or wifi. Thus far, the sky is blue and the sun is shining, but I’ve seen other hurricanes, so know this can change quickly… I’m purraying this isn’t another nip-stealing storm.
As usual, our dear furiend, Angel is joining our hop. He told us:
“Dear Purr and all your furry friends, Do you get upset when your Ma is gone more than three hours? I do. Ma doesn’t fool me. When she says, “Going and to the store” but returns with nothing! I can smell the forest on her. She’s been hiking in the woods or at the library. Bobcats, coyotes, fox, even black bear some places. Crazy Ma! I don’t even beg to go out. I grew up in the woods. She should stay home with me. No guns, no bow & arrow, and she can’t hunt! Again, I’ll ignore her a couple days. Maybe she’ll come to her senses! Notice my look when she came to the porch. No blinks for Ma today!”
I have it on good authority that Ms. Cherie doesn’t have good fangs or claws to purrtect herself, either. BTW, in case you might be interested, Angel also sent me a photo of his woods …. very different looking from the suburban home in the tropics! Looks like he has tons of climbing trees.
Karen and Tori did very well with their selfies, but it looks like Tori has been getting advice from Katsu :
Speaking of my brother…. at least you can see his eye, this week….
Have a wonderful week, dear furiends,
Purrseidon
I hope everything turned out okay and you made it through the storm alright.

Dorian never actually made it here …. some of the wind and rain bands did, but the actual storm was wise enough to stay about 100 miles away from my nip.

That’s good! Glad to hear. I had thought I heard something about it strengthening again, so I wasn’t sure. I’m out in the land-locked Midwest, so only tornadoes here!

Dorian did have embedded tornadoes, but none near my nip patch.

Looks like Dorian will not visit my nip patch … might not even be a tropical storm here…. I have seen seen a hurricane behave like this…. It nested in the Bahamas better than any chicken I’ve ever heard of. Very strange storm, but at least my nip patch appears to be safe.

We think moms should definitely stay home with us cats and not get lost in the woods. Our mom is furever going out hunting somewheres like work or stores… but then we have to come in off the screened in porch and wait inside for her to get back! I think there should be a take your cat hunting day. – purrz from Angel who always wants to be on the porch.

Meowser, I like the idea of ‘take your cat hunting day … Mom once forgot to lock the office door and I managed to get in while she was working… Some rude customer was growling at her on the phone and she was being ever so nice to that rude person, so I growled back…. and got thrown out!

Great selfies from all. I hope you are still safe from Dorian. XO

So far, so good, though since Dorian has been slow about turning northward, we might get CAT 1 or 2 winds instead of just a tropical storm… Time will tell.

We were worried about the hurricane all the way here on the west coast but now I don’t think we will be affected at all and it looks like you will get hit far less than predicted a few days ago. My wife booked her father in a hotel for three days (he lives south of Melbourne). Now she wonders if she wasted her money.

We live just South of Melbourne, too and our community has prepared for a worst case scenario. One neighbor fled to Alabama to visit family. Thankfully, it now looks like we will only get a tropical storm…. that is a huge improvement over what is now a CAT 5 hurricane! – mom just posted a blog about this at https://foguth.wordpress.com/2019/09/01/dorian-update/

Hopefully all will be well. Our area begins a mandatory evacuation of the area East of HWY 1 at 8 p.m. … I think the main concern is the storm surge generated by this powerful storm coupled with high tide … think it could actually be a King Tide, but I haven’t verified that possibility.

His place is west, not east of highway 1 but he is actually on highway 1.

I shall add him to my prayer list.

Purrsister, great selfies, seldom we see birds like Karen and Tori in selfies. Katsu is not very eager to show his face, maybe he is shy.
The storm, thanks to your mom, I am able to follow every move of Dorian. We are hand and paws crossed here hoping Dorian will turn back to the sea.

So far, so good with Dorian – that storm looks like it is a nasty one, but fortunately, it now looks like it intended to avoid Florida’s Space Coast – mom just blogged about it: https://foguth.wordpress.com/2019/09/01/dorian-update/

I hesitate to say Katsu did well, but it is nice to see him this week. You and Angel are photogenic, and we hope that you, and your family, Purrseidon, come through the storms OK, as does everyone caught in them. Lots of purrs for you this week.
