Dear Furiends,
This post is purrticipating in The Cat on My Head’s Sunday Selfies Blog Hop – to see what they are doing this weekend please, visit our dear furiends, The Kitties Blue, as well as other Sunday hoppers.
I shall begin with Katsu, who was trying to multitask – again.
IF you’re wondering why I say he was multitasking, he is actually keeping an eye on our chicks, as they explore outside their little house…. Observe the ovals – the one on the left is around Karen and Tori, who are pecking at the ground, while the one on the right is around Charnix, who is doing his level best to stand tall and skinny in order to hide behind that flower.
Here is a marginally better one of everybody, except Tori:
NOW for the horror of horrors – we’ve had guests this week…. a toddler is one…. I am not fond of sticky fingers or dunking hands, so did not want in the pool. (Yes, it was a first!) Katsu however thinks toddlers are the best for constant food and running and playing… (There is no accounting for him.) At least he does not like crying…. For a while, he floated on our chef’s lap in a blow up chair float, happy as can be. Then… THEN, he got in the water!!! I was in the catio, screaming and hanging on the screen but no one came to get me!!!!
This is an unbelievable turn of events – Katsu purrticipating in a pool party and me left behind.
It is unheard of.
Last, but not least, our dear furiend, Angel is fine and well way up North in Ohio:
Angel reports, “”Oh Ma, it’s bloody hot, but I’m staying on the porch. Back to sleep. Will let you know when I’m ready to eat.”
Have a glorious week, dear furiends,
Purrseidon
Oh, my! You didn’t get to go in the water? On the bright side, that is one thing you and Katsu have in common, (btw – you look very intellectual in your selfie – like you’re ready for a formal discussion

Most humans think it is very odd that Katsu and I both like swimming. Very glad you’re open minded!
Purrseidon, who was in home-school mode for that photo.

Oh my, there I am again, Ma, on the blog, and Katsu is in the water! And look at that gorgeous garden, all the flowers. We can’t have all the flowers around here because the bees come in the house and I don’t want that again! This is an old school house in rural area. One time, a swarm of bees came around! SCARY! They got in the garage, stayed with their queen, while the others buzzed away. They are dangerous in swarms. Tell Auntie Jeanne, I love her photos. Purr to Purr, my love! Love, Angel

Meowser Angel, dear furiend. We haven’t had problems with bees. Fire ants, yes, but not bees.

Well, Ms. Mimi I was NOT happy to have that toddler spend the whole week!!!!! Normally, he is just here for a 3 day weekend (cousin)… He was much nicer before he got good a walking.
Honestly, I can not figure Katsu out – can any kitty be that fond of babies + treats?!?!

It seems that Katsu can. After all, each of us is unique, and that’s what makes the world interesting.
As for the toddler, before you know it you will have another curious child, rather like your Master Munchkin, on your paws and you might be able to teach him something.

Ms. Mimi, I am pleased to report that toddler is now back home in the Carolinas… Alas, he will return. Cousins like him always do.
Purrseidon, who has now returned to be queen of her pool.

Purrseidon, maybe you could invite Angel over for a visit so she could cool off in your pool. I know what — you could have a summer pool pawty! I would totally come if I were invited, but I would take up a spot outside the pool in a chair, ’cause I don’t swim. Winks.

Valentine, dear furiend, we live in Florida. My furiend, Angel, lives in Ohio that is a long, long ways away. Literally the other side of mountains. I don’t think he likes car rides like Katsu and I do, either, but he would be welcome to come, if he wanted.
So would you, as long as you didn’t play ‘hide n seek’ or anything with my chicks.

WOW! Two water loving cats 🙂 Sorry you didn’t get a turn though. Katsu sounds like my Joanie. She loves toddlers and the treats she gets 🙂

I don’t think Katsu likes water quite as much as he loves treats and being with everyone…. Mr. M liked being alone / Katsu avoids it, if he can.
The only reason why I wasn’t included (I was asked) is because I did NOT want to share my pool time with that sticky-fingered-short-human.
I was shocked when Katsu seemed delighted to be invited, though knowing how much he wants to be with others , it shouldn’t have surprised me.

Nooooo! Sticky fingers and worse, sticky fingers attached to children, or adults are a no-no around these parts! But that pool really does sound like fun given you get so much sun and heat. The hens are all doing well, and clearly getting camouflage lessons!
I think Angel must be feeling like we do here, and happy just doing the chillin’ thing between meals, MOL

ERin, dear furiend, my chicks are doing fine and are wise enough to keep in somewhat shady areas during the heat of the day. I still haven’t gotten over Katsu being willing to join the pool party when a toddler was involved! I’m sure he will outgrow the annoying behavior in a few years, but I just detest sticky fingers… they also pull ears and tails. ICK!!!!
