Sunday Selfies

Dear Furiends,

This post is purrticipating in The Cat on My Head’s Sunday Selfies Blog Hop – to see what some of our furiends are doing this weekend please, click here and visit our dear furiends, The Kitties Blue, as well as other Sunday hoppers.

Let me tell you, arranging today’s selfies was exhausting! First, I posed with a couple of my home-grown peppers…. not for me, they are for my staff. THEN, Saphera said she wouldn’t pose unless Master Munchkin and I made her another ice egg! I’m thinking that might be blackmail. Worse, she didn’t share…. Again.

20190511_110535THEN, CP insisted that she and I pose together, so the other 4 demanded a peach to pose with…. it was originally a whole peach, but by the time all four of them got into position, they’d each had several bites…. I admit my peaches are very sweet and delicious, but in this summer heat (82) I would have purrferred Saphera’s ice egg.20190508_10162120190310_191341Katsu wasn’t looking ,so I scampers up my oak tree to show you one of my bromeliads. … It is wise to keep a respectful distance.

Before I forget, I thought you might also like to see how lovely I look against our new kitchen tiles (they were just out of the box and not installed).20190207_112130IMG_20190511_10472820190316_165114

Sometimes, I think Katsu looks for ways to ignore the camera and I surely think he should take lessons from Angel, who is showing off his beautiful quilt.

Have a wonderful week, dear furiends!

“Ma, I’m so glad I’m part of Purr’s family. She looks so much tamer than I do, but I’m sure glad I have a home. Especially with all the thunder and huge light show all night. That was loud! Pretty frightening. I stayed up hours while you watched the weather. I knew I better get off the porch when the light show and noise started! Thanks, Auntie Jeanne, Purr to you and all your lovely animal friends, Katsu too. We shall meet someday over the rainbow!”

    1. It’s a fine plant – feisty, but fine. Pops has some really ferocious ones. He also has some very tame ones – William Snakespear and his girlfriend like to chase bugs in a big green one outside Mom’s bedroom. It’s fun to watch them spiral around.

  2. Could it be that Katsu feels odd having to pose always in profile?

It sounds like you need to make several ice eggs at a time.

The tiles are going to make for a lovely floor.

Look at the chickens grow, they are getting to be quite good looking birds.

Yes, i would respect that bromeliad, too. It looks quite capable of defending itself against all comers.

Angel is doing a great job showing off his quilt.

    1. Ms. Mimi, we all hope you’re having a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend… several eggs is a fine concept. Gramma gave Master Munchkin quite a few balloons, so if we can find freezer space, this cold be a viable plan!

    1. I didn’t get many guavas, but had a lot of peaches and loquats. The chicks claimed most of my blueberries – they love playing soccer with them.

    1. The babies are getting big fast… of course, they won’t get huge, since they are type of bantams – only 2-3 pounds when grown, but the 3 silkies will look larger because they are poofy.

    1. Actually pops collects bromeliads, but this is the one that agreed to a selfie…. Some of them are quite ferocious. The chef’s favorite on grows pineapples.

I love the photo of you and your baby 🙂 You are such a good mom. Great selfies. I could go for an ice egg right now too. I like the new tiles. Have a wonderful day! XO

    1. Dear furiends, I live in Florida, too, which is why Saphera loves ice eggs, though she is only allowed to have them indoors long enough for her selfie, then outside it goes.

    1. I have all sorts of peppers in the garden, and you can probably tell by my ears, that I don’t think they smell very good, but my humans seem to like them. As long as they don’t add them to my food I’m happy to grow them… Seems like the smaller they are, the more ferocious they are.

  4. I hate to say it, but I think Katsu is camera shy. Maybe you could do an exchange with Angel who would I bet love your heat and green stuff, though he would have to leave that lovely new quilt at Love the tiles, and I bet they will be cool under paw too, which in summer is a lovely thing.

    1. ERin, dear furiend, Katsu might be camera shy. For certain, my chef is. That having been said, he is also proving to be an excellent assistant mother hen, which is very helpful to me. I don’t know how well Angel would do with chicks.
