  1. The Swiss Cats

We plant our veggie garden like this : it looks more like a mess than like a French style garden, but it’s much better for nature ! We need less treatments, because all the plants work together to fight pests and diseases and grow up nicely. Purrs

    1. Meowser, I am so glad to know we aren’t the only ones that sort of plant patches instead of rows! Do you also employ things like lady bugs and praying mantis to deal with the nasty bugs?

Praying mantis don’t live in Switzerland, but we use lady bugs to help us, and natural products like diathomeous earth or black soap. Purrs

      2. Tobacco soaked in water in an effective insecticide, too. Just soak a cigarette, if you happen to have one, in water overnight or longer, then put the strained water in a spray bottle…. Difficult with paws, so best to have your staff do this.

    1. I’m not sure where they fit… in our area, citrus have ‘the yellowing disease’, so we have star fruit, loquats, mangoes, coconuts, palms, etc. in the tree department. That having been said, I’m sure citrus are much deeper rooted than herbs and the category didn’t specify the type of tree.
