3. Meowing is my preferred method of communication.

This post is purrticipating in a blog hop hosted by Ms. Ellen of 15andmeowing  & Ms. Lorianne of Fourleggedfurballs Yesterday, they asked these questions. Thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins, Purrseidon! Patience is a wonderful thing, but also a difficult thing. Sometimes that smacky paw just really wants to come out and play. Purrs!

Around here, Boba is the only one who typically meows. Drac likes to come up and put his paws on my leg, which is his way of asking to be picked up. I don’t hear him talk much.
    Have a blessed week.

      1. Purrseidon, it doesn’t get done to them. They do it to me.

They sneak under my end of our big desk and if I reach for the mouse to work on *anything*, a furry paw comes from under the desk, with claws extended. They love to grab my hand/wrist/arm with their claws and not let go. Some days my arms look like they’ve been in a war for all the scratches on them.

      2. Horrors! The claws-out-smacky paw is NOT supposed to be used on staff! Still, it sounds like they are doing this more like a game than a training technique. Ehem, that having been said, when I was a kitten and didn’t understand claw control, caps were used on me – they lasted about a week before they fell off and aren’t uncomfortable. https://www.amazon.com/VICTHY-Grooming-Covers-Different-Adhesive/dp/B0779R6MCB/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1550422933&sr=8-4&keywords=claw+protectors+for+cats in case you’re interested.

      3. Thanks for the link. I think they see it as a game, too, and haven’t quite gotten claw control figured out yet. They really enjoy it, especially Tiglet. He likes to play using both claws and teeth. He’s a very strong boy. How long does it normally take to learn claw control? I don’t remember ever having this issue with our other kitties.
        Have a blessed day. 🙂

    1. Mr. Charles, Mr. M used to give me the occasional smacky paw, which is a feline way of teaching… it doesn’t hurt, but does get attention… I’ve been shocked to learn that smacky paws don’t seem to work on snakes, at least not William Snakespear, who continues to catch and eat my backyard frogs and lizards.

      1. Mr. Charles, it can eat on the other side of the fence! In fact, Master Snakespear is purrfectly welcome to move elsewhere! …. Did you know that frogs scream when caught?!? It is very disconcerting.

    1. Momma Kat, I don’t know if some humans are capable of learning this, but I do think it would be beneficial if it could be learned…. That having been said, it is my purrsonal experience that staff are very difficult to train, so difficulty learning might be the problem

    1. Ms. Mimi, i have observed that many humans, purrticularly those on TV act on assumptions before they verify facts. This is why I consul patience… Patience, taking time to calm down and patience to verify the actual issues.

I am glad you don’t have to live as a feral cat, because it can be hard.
Meowing is a very special way to communicate, I don’t always get it right, and Jackie gets impatient with me.
Absolutely agree, love can only be given and never bought, that makes it so special.
    Have a nice week!

  5. Kitties always answer the fill-ins better than us humans. They everything better than humans.
