  1. Hey…we have all but citronella growing on our deck and by our door…We also like Pelargonium (Citronella) Geraniums! Mom’s Mom used to grow them and they bring freat memories!

    1. The staff planted rosemary by the back door. Apparently that herb is for ‘remembrance’ and the chef’s grandma used to have a huge rosemary bush by her back door, so I don’t know if it is also good to remember grandmas or what. For sure, insects rarely sneak in the back door. >^.^<

    1. Ms. Ellen, please note that mint is the top one and catnip is a type of mint. Mr. M would tell you that ‘nip spray is ten times more effective that DEET for repelling mosquitoes. >^.^<

Jewelweed – which likes to grow in moist areas – is excellent for easy the itch of mosquito bites . The juice in the stem will do the trick (even on poison ivy itch, if not too bad.) Hummingbirds love the orange flowers too.

    1. Meowser, it’s wet season here (wish we could send half or more to California for those fires!) and wet season means mosquitoes. Fortunately, ‘nip is an excellent repellant. >^.^<
