Space X

Dear Furiends,P1160309

The strangest things still pop up in my dear departed brofur’s online reader. Apparently, today, Space X will launch a satellite from Cape Canaveral …. those launches always sent Pops and M into the yard so they could watch the rocket soaring into the heavens…. IF I understood when this was supposed to happen, I’d make sure I was in the garden, by M’s gravestone at the purrfect time. Alas, I don’t have a clue what EDT or GMT might be…. The note specifically said, “the launch window Thursday opens at 4:12 p.m. EDT (2012 GMT) and extends until 6:22 p.m. EDT (2222 GMT).”photo_bangabandhu-678x442

  1. I heard our humans talking about this. I still have a bit of a concern about this “space” place as I’ve read that they used to send animals up there, not my cup of catnip tea, but The Male Human says he’d go in a second (I hope he doesn’t get the chance, we’d miss him!)

      1. M and I often disagreed and we surely didn’t agree about water and such, but he was very, very smart, and I think you’re correct about him having been a forward thinker. >^.^<

    1. Oh, thank you! Clocks are very confusing because 1-12 is twice per day, not to mention time tends to spring and fall with the seasons… the 2012 really threw me for a loop!
I shall make sure I’m in the yard with M late this afternoon! >^.^<

That’s awesome! But yes people times are very very confusing. Mommy knows EDT is our current time so she said GMT is people 4 hours ahead of us and 2012 is because they use military time? Oh so very confusing but mommy seems to know what she’s talking about mol

    1. Purrcisely!!!! The one thing that sort of makes sense is the 24 hour method, which is much more purrcise and doesn’t make me wonder if they are talking about morning or night…. Pops said that the GMT had something to do with the spot where today is separated from yesterday and/or tomorrow.. He further added that there are 24 time zones – one for each hour and one’s time depends on where one is in compurrison to whereever that GMT thingy is…. SO, now you know why I left this confusing issue up to everyone to figure out for themselves. I will simply plant to be in the garden by M’s gravestone later this afternoon…. then I can sort of share the launch with him… at least that’s the plan. >^.^<
