Dear Furiends,
This is a reminder that s solar eclipse will a month from now (Monday, August 21, 2017 & it will be visible in North America – see chart below).
A solar eclipse happens when the moon blocks any or all parts of the sun. The one I’m patiently waiting for on August 21st will last for 2 to 3 hours, which is awesome! (Bright stars and planets will become visible as well.)
However, this post is about the safety aspect – I don’t want any of you dear furiends hurting your eyes, so please watch NASA’s 1 minute, but very informative video.
Be safe, as you keep an eye on the sky, dear furiends!

How close is the eclipse coming to you, Mr M? We’re in Michigan, so it will definitely be a partial one for us.

It will be equivalent for me since the path will be about halfway between us. I live near Cape Canaveral in Florida. What part of Michigan do you live in? =^.^=

Very interesting. I thought sunglasses would have been enough, but I was wrong.

Very informative! Yes, i knew not to look at it directly without special lenses. We won’t be in the path of totality, but i’m sure we will see some of it, and i promise to be careful.

It would be very upsetting if any of my dear furiends hurt their eyes. We aren’t in the path, either, so are hoping to get some sort of a view, or at very least, photos from the event. =^.^=
