Dear Furiends,
Being Lydia nominated me and mom for the Versatile Blogger Award. Thank you Ms. Lydia, I am very, very honored that you noticed my little blog. There are so many of wonderful blogs out there that deserve this praise, that I don’t know how we were noticed.
Here are the “rules”:
- show the award on your blog
- thank the person who has nominated you
- share 7 facts about yourself
- nominate 15 blogs of your choice
- link your nominees & let them know about your nomination
About me:
1) I was born feral, but don’t really remember my early days.
2) I became a housecat when I was 4 weeks old … my staff originally intended to bring me in when I was 6 weeks old, but in quick succession, my littermate, Lucyfur drowned in a puddle, then a local dog grabbed me and was trying to shake the stuffings out of me. That’s why I moved in 2 weeks early.
3) Ms. Saphera, the elder woofie in my family, is sort of my surrogate mom/friend. (My staff speculates that this is part of the reason why I don’t seem to be a propurr cat.)
4) Mr. M, by brofur (and propurr tom) is teaching me to be a writer’s muse … it is great fun and our next novel should be out by Dec. first.
5) I love working in my yard and going on walks, but am offended when humans stop, stare and then ask my staff if they realize they’ve got a cat on a leash. Of course they know I’m a cat!
6) I figure you know how much I love water, so I will tell you that orange is my favorite color.
7) Halo freeze-dry salmon is my favorite treat …. it’s Saphera’s favorite treat, too… I am better at sharing than she is, which is why she is on a diet.
I would like to nominate the following incredible bloggers:
Sid of TopoloD3xter (in Italy)
Linda Arthur Tejera’s Living With my Ancestors
Adventures in Cheeseland (hosted by mice)
Kristina & her cat, Kosmo (in Finland)
Sumith Babu, an Indian chef and Food artist
Dezi and Raena, two service cats
Laura & Carly / Ramblings of the Claury
Michael Andrew Just’s Dawn to Dawn Photography
I would like to thank you all for considering accepting. There is a lot of work, so I understand if you choose not to participate. However, I hope that you do. I nominated you because you each deserve recognition.
And to those of you reading this post, please check out these great sites, if you don’t know them already. If your name isn’t there, I apologize. It is not because I don’t find you worthy, it is because there were just too many to pick from and I was limited to 15.
And once again, I want to thank Being Lydia for her nomination.

Thank you so much Purrseidon! We did one of these award things before, but couldn’t figure out how to get it to show on our site. What’s the trick?

The actual award? I have a Mac, so all I need to do is put my paw on the award and move it to the desktop, then, when I write my post, I move it from the desktop to the post. If you don’t have a Mac, I don’t know if that would work. >^.^<

I always pick my orange toys, first and my favorite blankie is orange. IF I liked football, I think I would choose the Clemson Tigers – for one thing, they are TIGERS, for another orange is one of their colors. >^.^< (purple is pretty, too)

Congratulations … you DEFINITELY deserve this award. And thank you for including us!
We enjoyed getting to know more about you, Purrseidon. It’s ironic that your littermate drowned in water, yet you love it. You are one of a kind in so many different ways, P … and it’s a pleasure to join you on your adventures.
ps – Bear was homeless as well … only he was about 8 months old when I brought him inside. Because I had a 16 year old “only” cat with health problems, I fought myself about adopting him. When I decided to definitely do it … he disappeared for a few days and sent me into a panic (for close to 3 weeks he’d come around at the same time every day). Oh, I also thought he was a girl … and I’d named him Lily (which he came to). Before bringing him inside, I had him checked by a vet (to protect my older cat) … she thought “her” belly was distended and “she” was pregnant. About halfway through shaving “her” belly … Bear’s boyhood made an appearance 🙂 SURPRISE!

Mom speculates that Lucyfur (my sisfur) loved water, too, which was why she went into the water. We will never know for certain. That is funny that you thought Bear was a girl… Some friends of mom had an African Gray parrot that they named Elvis (and tried to teach how to sing Elvis’ songs)…. then, Elvis laid an egg and his/her name was changed to Janice (for Janice Joplin) ….
