Sunday Selfies

20161007_092909

Dear Furiends,

If you follow my blog, you’ll know that this past week, my house was attacked by hurricane Matthew. It is fine, but my yard isn’t. For one thing, my catnip plant has vanished!!! Horrors!!!

But this is my Sunday Selfie post, so I took the selfie at your left while we were visiting furiends who live near Orlando. As you can see, there was a lovely pool just outside the family room sliding door BUT I was NOT allowed to go swimming!!!

If you look at this picture,20161007_100237  you will see a big black blob of dog (Ms.Cricket). WELL, she got a crush on my brofur and this is HIS selfie:20161007_100227

Okay, so I admit that he didn’t take that selfie… I did. Could NOT resist the opportunity to capture the look on his face when he realized that Ms. Cricket wanted to lick the stuffings out of him!

    1. The WHOLE PLANT!!! That evil storm took several of Ms. Kiara’s plants, too. (She lives 4-5 miles North of us)…. In many ways, it is worse for her because delicious, organic ‘nip blends are her business. >^.^<

We thought of you with Hurricane Matthew and hoped you faired OK. WE did too, the worst was losing power for 2 nights. Our yard is still kinda messy as it’s only Mom to clean it up. But the major stuff is done. So sorry about your catnip plants. WE hope you can get some more planted soon.

    1. Yes, he was alarmed … in fact, he showed more emotion over Cricket than I’ve ever seen him display — except for when I come in from the beach…. >^.^<

  4. Getting a new catnip plant should be your Mum’s top priority. After all that must have been very scary to listen to that Hurricane, and you should get some extra TLC including extra catnip.

    1. We all went to the Orlando area white that storm beat up our yard…. actually, my brofur, Mr. M had the more traumatic experience…. Cricket, a cockapoo we sheltered with got a huge crush on him and wanted to bathe him…. He was very rude about the dog spit on his fur. >^.^<

    1. I am sure that if I don’t get one now, I’ll surely get one for Christmas, but I don’t know if I’ll dare plant it outside. BTW, in your selfie, you look like you love plants, too.

  5. That Matthew must have thought the nip was his too, Purrseidon…I think you will get a lot of nip again, it will grow back… somewhere….but we are so glad you all are safe. It’s so horrible to see what has happened. Pawkisses for a Happy Day 🙂 ❤

    1. Thank you for the warm thoughts! Our house was built strong, but I am still glad we left…. I am not speaking for my brofur – he can’t decide if living through a hurricane would be worse than a dog having a crush on him…

    1. I never thought to dig up my plant and bring it in, but if/when another hurricane heads this way, that will be the top thing on my ‘preparedness list’.

  6. Oh my, we are glad that there wasnt more problems from Matthew for you guys. Biut to pinch your nip, that is down right wicked! Get that Matthew to give it back, ASAP! Failing that I’m sure your mom will get you another. Your Bro does not look at all happy, but makes for a fun selfie! purrs ERin

    1. Thanks, Kosmo. Yes, M was ready to attack. In fact shortly after I snapped that, M stood up and was nose to nose with Cricket…. there was some growling, too, but no fur flew … Cricket was a very lucky woofie.
