Friday Fill-Ins

Whatever happened to the concept that we should treat others in the way we want to be treated? reading-498102_960_720I always work in the garden and think of those who have given their time, blood and even lives to purrtect others on Memorial Day.img_2656

I used to wish I had those handy opposible thumbs, but realized it is just as easy to have my human staff do the chores that require them.

I just cannot understand why there isn’t a ‘none of the above‘ option on election ballots, no matter how much humans complain that they don’t like and/or trust the ones who seem to want the office, there doesn’t seem to be a way for them to force the parties to go back to square one and find a better option.img_8581-1

This post is participating in Friendly Fill-Ins, which is hosted by McGufy’s Reader & 15andmeowing – on Thursdays, they asked these 4 fill in the blank questions:

  1. Whatever happened to ____________________?
  2. I always ________________________ on Memorial Day ( or your country’s equivalent).
  3. I used to wish ___________________, but _______________________.
  4.  I just cannot _________________ , no matter ____________________.

  1. Great answers, especially #4. Our dad has always said that a truly honest man/woman is not interested in running for political office. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

    1. One of my Grampa’s favorite sayings is ‘everyone rises to the level of his/her incompetence’ … a I’m pretty sure he wasn’t talking about my ladder or oak tree.

  2. I agree with treating others the way we want to be treated, even if they don’t respond in kind, it shows them another way to consider! Working in the garden is good for the soul! Opposing thumbs are pretty cool, we sometimes don’t realize how much they enable us to do, typing would be much harder and slower without them and texting would be very difficult! 🙂 This is most definitely the year we need a “none of the above” option on the ballot. Really, are these the very best candidates we can come up with???!

  5. Maggie has opposable thumbs; she is polydactyl! She does not help me much though! She is good at pushing things off of the counter and opening things!
I try to treat people the way IU want to be treated, but do not see it in others too often.
Great answers. Thank you for being part of Friendly Fill-Ins! Hugs.

    1. Saphera doesn’t have opposable thumbs, but that dog can get just about anything open – including those annoying tops of water bottles.
