Sunday Selfies

Furiends, as always, I’m very busy, so – again – I’m trying to do two things at the same time. That interloping tom has moved nearby – close enough that I no longer view him as a threat, even though he did hop into MY TUB with MY MOM before he left. Mom always locks me out when she plans to take a nice relaxing soak – she says she can’t relax with me playing in the water. BUT – wait until you hear this, dear furiends! – that-that-that tom managed to hide in the bathroom while she locked me out, then, he had the nerve to hop into the tub with her. AND sit down!!! Mom didn’t tell him to get out! In fact, she seemed to enjoy his company.

This is very upsetting. So, today I’m combining my Sunday Selfie with a spy mission on that interloper. From the vantage point of my well-placed oak tree, I can see over the privacy fence and into his yard.  It looks like he’s staying put – that is very good. If someone is going to join MY mom in MY tub, it’s going to be ME!P1180008.JPGThis post is part of The Cat on My Head’s Sunday Selfies Blog Hop – to see what some of my furiends are doing, click here

    1. I am almost always careful… so far, so good on that interloper staying away, though Saphera and I maintain vigilance and I hear that the neighbor’s elderly cat isn’t purrticularly fond of his new brother …. there is something a bit off about that tom… Grammie said he had a Hitler mustache and her tome was not complimentary… I wonder if his marking are what made me distrust him… I always assumed it was because he seemed so dumb and didn’t even know how to play with a catnip mouse.

  1. Wow, you are a great climber. Mauricio and Misty May used to climb trees all the time, but not so much anymore. These photos are really spectacular! We can’t believe your mom would let that cat into the tub with her. You must have a serious talk with her. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

    1. Mom said he sat right down and stared at her as if he belonged there.
After the way he looked at my splash-pool in the yard, I always suspected he liked water. Of course, Mr. M said there couldn’t be two cats who liked getting wet…

    1. Yes! It was horrible! He just hopped right in with mom and sat down… and I was locked out of the room. Mr. M didn’t come out of his box for a long time after he heard this because he thought that interloper was a ‘proper cat’ … But he couldn’t be if he’d sit in water – right? I’m very confused by that interloper…. mom says I’m jealous because I’m the youngest, but I don’t think that’s so.
That guy best not come back!!!

    1. I intend to!
I don’t think he is very smart. He didn’t know how to play with toys and had to be shown what to do with them… and the strangest thing was that the food he liked best was Gammie’s cheese-herb bread – he stole a crust from Mom’s plate and acted like we’d steal it from him. If we wanted a piece, all we’d need to do is ask.

    1. Thank you, so very much, Joey! Right now, I’m keeping track from my tree & Saphera is sniffing at the fence – she found an armadillo hole, but no strange cat. AND my furiend Cricket is watching his house from the other side. I guess it might sound odd that my two helpful furiends are dogs, but they are both very good dogs. If I get a nice box at a good strategic point, I’m sure M would help, too, but he tends to fall asleep, so Saphera and Cricket are much more reliable.

  2. Purrseidon, you need to keep up your guard, that tom will think he can get into your tub whenever he pleases. Best maybe deter your mom from taking baths, at least for a bit. You could take them for her and surprise that tom! purrs ERin

    1. I am getting much better at trees … they are more complex than my ladder, but more interesting, too. I’ve never had a bird build a nest on my ladder.

      1. Well cousins Quark and Boson are birds, but they’re both boys and to the best of my knowledge they don’t build nests… Have you ever been up a tree and looked into a nest? They’ve got eggs in them! AND the most amazing thing is that the eggs turn into ugly baby birds instead of scrambled eggs…. trees are amazing.

Ohhhh I have tried to climb the big tree out front, I got stuck half way up the trunk and had to call to Mom to come get me *sigh* someday I will make it up that monster! Baby birds sound kinda weird!

      3. Trees are tricky because that have all sorts of sticky-out bits that ladders would never think of…
Marty, you’re correct those baby birds do sound strange, but they look kinda like soggy dinosaurs when they’re first hatched…. UGLY!!!

    1. My dear furiends, I am SO GLAD you understand the purrsonal invasion I suffered (BTW, you sound like Mr. M, who thinks wet it bad…. I like being wet.)
